Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy

Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy

Objectives & Synopsis

Missouri POST expects an Objectives and Synopsis sheet on file for every session of continuing law enforcement education the Academy certifies. It says what the training covers and what the people who attend will be able to do afterwards, and it has to be written by the person who is going to teach it.

You do not need an account or a password. Two boxes is the whole of it. Nothing is added to Academy records until a staff member reviews what you have sent.

If the class is not on our schedule yet — you have spoken to the Academy about certifying a class you are planning — fill in the class details below as best you know them. Approximate dates are fine; staff will set the real ones when the class is built.

Who you are

The class

Fill in what you know. If the Academy already has the class on the schedule, this section is shown filled in above and you can leave these boxes alone.

Synopsis *

A short description of the training itself — what is taught, and how. A paragraph is usually right. Write it for somebody deciding whether to send an officer to it.

Objectives *

What a person who attends will be able to do afterwards. One per line. These read best when each one starts with a verb — identify, demonstrate, describe, apply — so that whether it was met is something you could actually observe.

Thank you — your Objectives and Synopsis were submitted.

Academy staff will review them. If anything needs sorting out, somebody will call or email you.
